Lunch and a Movie!  I need to do that more often with my dearest oldest friend.  In 1948 my mother and her best friend each had a baby girl just a few days apart.  They put us both in the crib together while they talked and visited.  We grew up like sisters and have never lost our friendship.  She and her husband now live about a mile away from us and through all these many years we have laughed and cried together and been there for each other.  Friends are so precious and friendships have to be tended to like a beautiful garden.  (I read that somewhere)  I hope you have a wonderful day with your friend and that you laugh a lot. 
My grandchildren will be coming over today and I have a pecan pie in the oven and their favorite soup.
