Whence I was flying home this eve
I passed your garden’s gate
The moonbeams shone
It was not dawn
Although it was very late
I watered and fed
And tilled the bed
Drank wine till I did swoon

And dropped my cup
Then I flew toward the moon
So when you come to your garden’s gate
A little cup you will find
It was left by a friend
Who will come again
