I think first generation European here are soccer fans to the extreme . But the average person here sort of got into it when Canada was in it but once eliminated feel off the bandwagon .
It is a game played by everyone in school for phys-ed . I think the faking would stop if there was repercussions for their actions . Like if play has to be stopped and sideline staff need to enter the field . Obviously you are hurt so for health and safety reason you are out of the remainder of the game . Or if found to be faking/diving you play one man short for a set time .
