Luna sat on the old kitchen chair while Neville held her by the shoulders. She was silently absorbing the death of her husband. Every creature inside the magical suitcase had been digested by the sand creatures, except for the niffler and Scorpius who had been returned safely to Malfoy manor with most of the wizards and witches.
The silver sand had disappeared, replaced by shards of dark glass. The house elves of Hogwarts had been summoned to clean the ancient kobold caves and they were proving efficient and quick. Soon, the nightmare would be over.
