So what's happening with your neighbours in the meantime? When our neighbour had water damage in her house - a slow drip from an underfloor tap that had presumably been dripping for 30 years since the house was built - she had awful problems with the insurance. In the end Colin dealt with it all for her as that was his job (joiner/project manager) & we found her some place to stay. The insurance company were hopeless & she had a gold policy which you'd assume would one of the best. However she has ended up with almost a brand new house as it was taken back to 4 walls so she got new insulation, kitchen bathrooms, internal doors etc but it was stressful, even for Colin, as the insurance company wanted to cut corners & do it as cheaply as possible and he was constantly battling with them xx
