Good morning Kathy. Wow, God bless your step mom. That’s wonderful that she is able to live alone and do well. My grandfather was similar, he was 991/2 when he passed and was living alone taking care of all the things. We didn’t allow him to drive but he was able to take care of himself and cook, clean and do his laundry. I think that’s what kept him going. You are correct about not being prepared for any step along the way with any illness. My mom was in palliative care for a month and when I got the call in the morning of her passing that she was nearing the end, I was completely shocked and devastated…as if I didn’t expect it to happen. We arrived at the facility she was in fifteen minutes after I got the call and she was already gone. I am troubled that I wasn’t there and that she didn’t wait for me…I am an only child and my parents divorced when I was very young so it was always just the two of us. She was my best friend and I miss her so much!! How is your weather been? We got another few inches of snow overnight and it’s still bitter cold…brrr🥶💜
