Glad your hubby didnt have to drive in any of this. Both my kids had no school today and no school tomorrow! The snow is up to my knees! I had to shovel a path for my dogs to go potty and then i had to shove the opposite direction to clear my dryer vent. I have never had to do this before, it's crazy! and they are talking about a potential Norester next weekend too. I like the idea with the fairy lights - that sounds soothing :)

Oh wow Mary I bet that was definitely a happy call. Glad home won out. We got a pile of snow again last night. I was so happy to see Jaimie show up today. I shovelled a big path and then he did his magic. Got the car all cleaned off then ran into town. I bought a heat tape. The pipes are frozen around the pump in the basement.  I don't know how to bleed the lines. God I hope I don't have to call a plumber! I put the heat tape on and now I'm praying it will work. Still no water. And I need a shower!! My dishes are stacking up too. I might have to just bring some water up from the cistern and heat it on the stove. I'm already sore from shovelling. But you know its gotten pretty bad so....
Just went down to check, the heat tape is a process I guess. Not working yet.
I'm so happy you didn't get the brunt of the storm. I've seen some places where it was awful. And its not going to warm up for a while either. Makes it so much worse. I couldn't handle being out for very long. I put extra layers on to do anything outside.
Does it mean Dennis will have to work on the weekend to make up for today? I hope the worst is over now. Have a wonderful night Mary. Keep warm (((HUGS)))
