Hi Sue, Got home about 3pm (left the house at 10.30). Spoke with the Cardiac Investigations Team in person and they can "only assume" that the appointment for the external monitor was sent out because the doctor thought there would be a longer wait for an appointment for the internal monitor. That has now been cancelled. The pre-op assessment went fine and, barring any unforseen circumstances, I'm scheduled for the procedure next Friday. Everyone who has an appointment attends at the same time (!!!!!!) - 8am - and then I'll basically be done when they get to me! The procedure takes about 30-40 minutes, I'll be put back together with glue (!!) And will then be in recovery for about the same amount of time. Not bothered about any of it except that local anaesthetic jab. I got so bad with them when I ruptured my Esophagus that I had my last three tubes removed with nothing other than deep breathing exercises and squeezing the hands of one of the young doctors! Don't think I can hack an incision in my chest without one though 🤔😭
