PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS THREAD TO POST FEEDBACK OR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FAIRYTALES. Please read this page before you ask a question here.  You may find your question is already answered on this page.

WHICH POTS GIVE WHICH ITEM?

The rainbow pot gives grass to attract the Goats and Troll, the gold pot gives butter to make the Buttercup.  You will need an empty Tea Cup pot (from the Regular Pots section of the pot shop) for the fairy to harvest the butter into to make the buttercup.

There are also two purple pots - light purple for Knapweed, to deter the Small Billy Goat, dark purple for Nightshade, to deter the Medium Billy Goat.  Both need an empty Rusty Bucket (from the Regular section of the pot shop) for the fairy to harvest them into.

DOES IT MATTER WHAT FOOD I USE?

The type of food you put out for the fairy determines the amount of harvested materials you get to attract the Billy Goats and Troll.  The number of feedings of grass will be the same as the number of feedings on the berries you used (5 for regular or organic, 10 for double regular or double organic, 15 for superfood).

The type of food you use does not have any effect on the Buttercup, Knapweed or Nightshade.  These plants take 24 hours to become fully grown, and will be fully grown for two days.  You can diamond dust them to fully grown.

The Buttercup will change as you attract Goats.  Once you have attracted five Small Billy Goats, it will change to Medium to attract the Medium-sized Billy Goats.  Once you have attracted five Medium Billy Goats, it will change to Big to attract the Big Billy Goat.

SETTING UP FOR THE FAIRYTALE

You will need to harvest the toadstools in the correct order.  If you harvest the grass before you harvest the butter, you will only get Trolls to the grass until the butter has been harvested, and if you harvest the deterrents too early you may not be able to attract the correct number of Goats to change the Buttercup.  The Fairy will harvest the toadstool furthest to the left.  Remember to use a high empty table for the grass, otherwise the fairy will harvest the next toadstool along.

SUGGESTED METHOD

Make sure your toadstool with the Butter on it is to the left.  Put out berries for the fairy, leave out an empty Tea Cup.  When the fairy visits, she will harvest the Butter and plant the Buttercup in the Tea Cup.  Do not dust the Buttercup to fully grown yet.  Harvest the toadstool and replant it ready for the next round.

Make sure your toadstool with the Grass is now to the left of any other toadstools with bubbles on.  Put out an empty high table for the grass to be harvested onto.  When the fairy visits again, she will harvest the grass onto the table.  Harvest the toadstool and replant it for the next round.

Diamond dust the Buttercup to fully grown (you need both the grass AND a fully grown Buttercup to attract the Goats and the Troll).

When you have attracted five Small Goats to the grass, the Buttercup will change to Medium.  Make sure that the toadstool with the Knapweed is to the left of any other toadstools with bubbles on.  Leave out an empty Rusty Bucket, and the next time the fairy visits she will harvest the Knapweed into it.  Harvest the toadstool, send the pot back to storage so that you have room for the Nightshade when you need it.  Dust the Knapweed to fully grown.

When you have attracted five Medium-sized Billy Goats to the grass, the Buttercup will change to Big.  Make sure that the toadstool with the Nightshade is to the left of any other toadstools with bubbles on.  Leave out an empty Rusty Bucket, and the next time the fairy visits she will harvest the Nightshade into it.  You may want to replant the Knapweed toadstool at this point, but this would mean that you'd need to dump any remaining berries and send the feeding table back to storage because there isn't enough room in the garden otherwise.  Otherwise send the pot back to storage and wait until the Buttercup is harvested before replanting the deterrent toadstools.

When the Big Billy Goat is spotted, it will harvest the Buttercup.

DETERRING PESTS

You can deter some of the Trolls by using a fully grown Supershroom.

WHICH SEEDS DO THE CHARACTERS DROP?

The first time you spot Esurienti the Hungry Fairy in another garden, she will drop a Fairytale Seed.  After that, every tenth time you spot her, she will drop a Forest Amber seed.

Every tenth Troll, Small Billy Goat and Medium Sized Billy Goat you spot in other gardens will drop a Fairytale Seed, as will every fifth Big Billy Goat.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR UNLOCKING THE NEXT SET OF POTS?

You need seven Big Billy Goats spotted in your garden.   You can see the requirements for your level by going to the pot shop, clicking the link for the next Fairytale, and then clicking the blue Quest link on the left hand side.

Thanks so much for this, Tracey! My question is - are goats like cows? Do they pick off where they left off for the buttercup, or does the buttercup start over?

Do we have to do this whole cycle over and over to get to our 7 big goats? I'm trying to figure out how many resources are need for this fairytale and any way to economize - it looks like this will cost 28 fairytale seeds at the very best and more if not using supershrooms and superfood.

The buttercup starts as small every time, so you have to go through the small and medium goats again.  But it's every fifth of each spotted in your garden which increases the size of the buttercup, not every fifth spotted for each buttercup - so if you'd spotted (say) 9 small goats first time around, you'd only need to attract one more for it to increase the size of the buttercup.

And yes, we have to do this cycle over and over.  Each buttercup only brings one big goat so that's at least seven rounds - but if you don't get your big goat on one round, it is going to take more rounds (and so more FT seeds).  28 would be the very least we'll need, and I expect it will take most of us more than that even if we use Superfood and a Supershroom.   I used both, and it still took two rounds to get my first big goat spotted.

Thanks for this Tracey - much appreciated.  Couldn't get my head around this one at all so far!  Thanks for your invaluable help as usual, you're a star! xx

WOW, we should all get awarded PhDs once we've got through the Fairytales :)

It's making my brains hurt, Rachel!

Norma - you can harvest the toadstools as soon as the fairy has harvested the materials from them, just like the earlier Fairytales.   You will keep getting the fairy for as long as you have berries out and another toadstool with a bubble on the top.

May be she had two buttercups.. I must ask..lol

You might want to remove your post with the garden link in it, Kaweendra.  It's not the done thing to post someone else's garden link and the mods will probably remove the post.

She must have had two buttercups - you can see she's set up her garden with two of each toadstool for the grass and butter, so I'm guessing she did that in the first round too.  The Big Billy Goat eats the buttercup so there's no way she can have had two from the same plant.

Removed.. I wanted you to have a peek.. that's why I posted it... Now I realise what you say is true.. It must be two buttercups..
