Some people still seem to be struggling with the Fairytale quest, even those who have read the Guide to the Fairytales, so I thought it might be useful to have a specific FAQ for the Three Little Pigs quest to try and cover the most frequently asked questions which have shown up over the past few days.  Hopefully it will help!

Due to the word limit on forum posts, I will need to split this into a couple of pages.  Please read both pages to see if your question is anwered there!

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE FAIRY

HOW DO I ATTRACT A FAIRY?

You need a toadstool which has a bubble on the top with materials in it.  The status of the toadstool will be "Attracting A Fairy".  Once you have the bubble on your toadstool, leave out one plate of Wild Berries and one empty table if you are ready for the fairy to harvest your toadstool.

HOW DO I ATTRACT MORE THAN ONE FAIRY TO MY PLATE OF WILD BERRIES?

Once the fairy has harvested the items, she won't visit that toadstool again.  There are two ways to get the fairy to keep coming back:

1.  Have more than one toadstool with a bubble on the top, attracting a fairy.  When one of them is harvested by the fairy, the other will continue to attract the fairy until she can harvest the second bubble.  Whilst you still have materials on your plate attracting the pigs, the fairy can't harvest the second bubble so she keeps coming back.

2.  Keep both plates full of Wild Berries until you are ready for the fairy to harvest the materials.  As soon as you leave out an empty plate she can come and harvest the materials, so if you keep the plates full she will keep visiting.

I HAVE AN EMPTY FOOD TABLE, BUT THE FAIRY ISN'T HARVESTING MY MATERIALS FROM THE TOADSTOOL

Make sure that you have cleared your feeding table of any wildlife spotted/diamonds earned.  The materials which the fairy harvests act like food, so the plate has to be completely empty before she can place the materials from the toadstool on the feeding table.

I SPOTTED A FAIRY IN ANOTHER GARDEN, BUT SHE COULD NOT TELL HER TALE.  WHY?

The most likely explanation is that the garden you spotted the fairy in either does not have an empty table for the fairy to leave the harvested items, or the garden owner has forgotten to clear the plate and there's still wildlife/diamonds waiting to be cleared.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TOADSTOOL

DOES THE TOADSTOOL ACT LIKE A MUSHROOM AND DETER MICE AND DUCKS?

No.  It is completely different to the mushrooms, and does not have any deterrent properties.  It does not attract anything other than the Fairy.

WHICH POTS DO I NEED TO USE TO GET WHICH HARVESTED ITEM?

First Little Pig collects Straw, harvested from the purple Toadstool pot
Second Little Pig collects Wood, harvested from the yellow Toadstool pot
Third Little Pig collects Bricks, harvested from the red Toadstool pot

ONCE THE FAIRY HAS HARVESTED MY MATERIALS, CAN I HARVEST THE TOADSTOOL?

Yes.  Once the materials have been harvested, the fairy will not visit again so you can harvest the toadstool.

CAN THE EMPTY POTS BE USED FOR ANYTHING ELSE?

They can only be used to plant a Fairytale Seed, and each pot will only ever make the same materials and so attract the same Little Pig/Wolf again.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE FOOD (MIXED BERRIES)

DOES IT MATTER WHAT FOOD I USE?

The type of food you put out for the fairy (regular, organic, superfood) determines the amount of harvested materials you get for the pigs to collect, and the time between feeds.  If you use regular food, you get regular materials which will give you five visits from pigs/wolves.  If you use organic food, you will get organic materials which will give you ten visits from the pigs/wolves, and with superfood you'll get fifteen visits from the pigs/wolves.  The times which are set for each food will also apply to the harvested materials.  It's best to use a double portion of whichever kind of food you use (or use superfood) since that gives you the best chance of having five pigs spotted from one toadstool.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PIGS AND BIG BAD WOLF

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO UNLOCK THE NEXT LEVEL OF POTS, AND WHERE CAN I SEE THEM?

You can see the requirements for the next level if you go to the Fairytales section of the Pot Shop and click the link on the left hand side to see the Second Fairy Tale.  You will see a green tick if you have completed those requirements.  To unlock the second fairy tale you need to have five of EACH Little Pig spotted in your garden.  You do not need to spot a particular number in other gardens, and you do not have to spot a particular number of any of the characters in another garden.

HOW DO I DETER THE BIG BAD WOLF?

The only way to deter the wolf is to use a Supershroom.  This is not a 100% deterrent though, so you will see some wolves even if you deter them.

DO I NEED TO USE A SUPERSHROOM?

No, it is possible to get the Little Pigs you need by using an ordinary mushroom to deter some mice and ducks.  Make sure that you use a double portion of food though, so that you have more chances to attract the five Little Pigs you need from each toadstool.

Sorry Tracey, but a single serve of organic will still only get you five feeds as well. I know you know this but the way it's written here is misleading.

Single organic and single regular food will give you 5 feedings, the only difference is the timings between feeds and the max platter length. Double organic and double regular will give you 10 feeds each.

Thank you, Sandra. I think I'm getting it now... Thanks, also, Tracey, for starting this thread. Glad someone else pointed out the typo, because i found that part about the food confusing, too.

Now I need to spot more critters who give fairytale seeds!

Okay... just to confirm. In order to get super wood (or super twigs or super bricks) on the empty plate, I have to have a tray of superfood berries on the 1st plate of food. Is that correct?

And if I have a plate of double organic berries on my first plate of food, then the fairy will put on the empty plate materials for 10 visits for the pigs or wolf. Right?

Am trying to understand all this so I'll be ready when my toadstool is RFH.

Yes, whatever food type your berries are is what the fairy will place on the empty plate. So best to go for superfood or double serves if you can't do superfood. That way you have 10 chances of getting your 5 piggies spotted.
