I hope I am able to explain this in a succinct way because I am myself confused about the final requirements in the Bouquet Challenge. In order to qualify for the reward it said I needed to spot four more gold critters and attract four more to my garden, but since then I have had a gold skunk spotted and yet the number has not gone down to three. And I don't understand what 'skip two' actually means - does it mean you can skip two wildlife, skip gold wildlife, or skip two whole challenges? I have done them all except the underwater one but have spotted all the wildlife for that. Have I now got to complete the Skunk, Raccoon, Hippo and Llama challenges entirely? Please help if you can, my brain hurts!

You need to attract 5 Gold Skunk, in which case this finishes your vase, just like all the other vases. ' Skip' means you can skip a ' set' of critters, like for eg, your Starfish and octopus. But you need to spot all Gold wildlife at least once.
The only ' abnormal ' set was the Myths, ie, Unicorn,  Baby unicorn and phoenix,  which were 3, not 2.

Sorry, yes, you would need to complete Skunk, llama,  Hippopotamus and Raccoon,  and choose to skip Starfish and octopus,  to get your reward.

Okay, but what does 'you many skip two' mean please? What 'two' are those?

I am still finding this confusing about 'skip any two' ?

You can completely skip attracting any two of the gold critters and still get your reward.
So, for instance, I am not keen on doing the bottom dwellers again, so I am not going to try to attract either of the gold bottom dwellers.  And I will still (eventually) be able to get my reward.
However, you must spot at least one of EVERY gold critter to be eligible for the reward.

Right. Thanks Jackie, I am getting there! I am not really thick, honestly! :) That covers the spotting bit then, I get that. But as for the attracting, I am not so sure. Have I got to attract more than one of Gold Skunk, Gold Raccoon, Gold Hippo and Gold Llama? I have already attracted one Gold Skunk but I still have to attract all of them?

Yes, if you are doing Gold Skunk, you need to attract it 5 or more times,  as its telling you. 
The attraction bit means attract 5 or more times for that specific Gold critter.
