I have a violet egg in my garden. The only egg actually.  How do I make sure it's violet when it hatches. I need 1 last one for a quest and it's not been working out. Thank you.

It hasn't been working out for me either. I've had this easter quest on since last year and I need a violet chick to complete it. I did the trick of having an indigo egg to make sure the violet egg will hatch violet. But the indigo is always the one that started cracking, never the violet egg. I wasted food by dumping it because I didn't want the indigo to hatch. I've given up and am leaving it to chance lol.

Patricia, you need an indigo egg to go with the violet.  Everytime the indigo egg wobbles first, dump the food.  When the violet egg wobbles, you know it's a violet chick.

This works because the chick hatches from the lowest color egg that it can.  Therefore, red through indigo chicks hatch from the indigo egg and only the violet chick will hatch from the violet egg.

As Erlynn says, however, this can be expensive in both gold and time.  Personally, I just get violet eggs and hope for the best.  Eventually, a violet chick comes anyway.

I got my violet baby chick without doing anything.  Yay! I was able to close out that quest
