How many quest levels do I need to complete before I can paint the second section of my pole?

Completing Level 3 allows you to paint the second section of the bird pole.
Completing Level 4 allows you to paint the second section of the mammal pole.

Don't you just need to get "x" amount of scrolls to paint each section, not necessarily completing each quest level?

You complete the quest level by collecting "x" amount of scrolls.

Yes, but you don't necessarily have to complete each level as such is what i mean. You can just do the same quest from one level over and over if you wanted to, from what i've read. It's not meant as a correction, just an addition to the question that was asked and we don't have to actually complete certain levels to paint the poles.....unless what i've seen is wrong and open to being corrected....

No, you're right that we don't have to complete each quest. We do get rewarded with table parts for doing so, but the poles are painted because of the number of scrolls we collect.
