Only very occasionally. You can also get one with every multiple of ten chocolate bunnies you spot in other gardens.

My plant was fully grown. I had a Dark Choco Egg in the nest, but when it hatched, there was no Dark Choco Easter Egg. What did I do wrong?

It added the flowers to one of your other eggs (the darkish pink flowers at the base). It adds to the egg furthest to the left that it can :)

If the plant you wanted the egg on had been to the furthest left, it would have given you an egg. But because one of the other plants to the left needed the flowers, it gave the flowers :)
