I am in the process of making hummingbird nest.  I was not paying close attn and a Macaw made it's way into the nest.  Any ideas on how to get rid of it?  Thank you

Hi Janice - continue building the nest - when it is completed break the nest - Easter is a good time to do this as you can easily land Easter eggs to break the nest or use cuckoos outside of Easter season - any non hummingbirds will be the birds that drop off the nest, then reset for a hummer and complete.

What does break the nest mean? I've tried doing the hummingbird nest before and always get a macaw so I give up.

Once it's complete, getting an egg into it and either discarding or hatching it counts as a use.  Five uses means the nest needs repair and will remove a bird (other than hummingbirds).  Easter eggs are the fastest way, so once the daffodils arrive, breaking nests will be easier.

I built the ones I have by only popping them out when a humming bird alert came so not to risk anything else adding to it ….. I found this a good way of doing them :)
