It took me nearly 2 months to spot two babies in other gardens, I finally did, I have spotted 2 in my garden but I needed 4. Is it better that I wait until next year to spot the remaining 2 or do I put in 2 new birthstones in the hope that I have enough wildlife coming through my garden of the right kind to spot 2 more babies?

It depends which babies you mean.  The zodiacs are seasonal so less easy to spot and impossible to attract out of season unless you keep the plants for a while.  If you want ordinary babies - ie not zodiacs - you can do those at any time.

Thanks Tracy, I think I leave them until next year, one is a Centaur and the other a Tortoise the Tortoise is still coming in my garden but not the Centaur!

Vera, you don't have the correct zodiac plant. You need a RFH Sagittarius Astroflorus to attract centaurs. They are actually seasonal and available from Nov 22 - Dec 21.
You can still attract tortoises. Every 10th tortoise spotted in your garden will plant a birthflower.
You can also check the wildlife guide because there are gardens where the baby tortoise was recently missed.
