why is my pink cap mushroom that is supposed to be excellent not deterring regular mice?  it's hard enough to spot cardinals with robins showing up, and then have to work around mice that show up, in a limited amount of time.

After the introduction of Supershrooms, no Magical Mushrooms deters at 100% anymore (otherwise the S.Sh. would be useless).

They never were 100% deterrent.

You'd do better with more poinsettias - with one or two more your setup would be far stronger and you'd be fine without a mushroom at all.  A good setup is more important than a mushroom.

A shroom could help as would reduce the number of unwanted to two(worms and robins). With the pink cap you introduce the griffin, and firebird plus the field mouse and duck(so that adds four plus the robin that makes five unwanted)...and with the low platter of seed it also includes the pygmy mouse and white mouse so that brings the total of unwanted to seven. So that decreases the odds for the cardinal. If you want to continue to use the pink cap then I would consider using only high tables with two or more poinsettias.
