I remember at one time there was a way to limit the garden being watered for a period of time...and I think that it might be time to do something similar but not the same. Taking into consideration critters that stay a minute...I suspect that it would have to be every thirty seconds that one could water(maybe fifteen). This would allow others to have a chance too. So if I watered, then I would have to wait thirty seconds before I could water again. It is a game...so fair play should be encouraged.

I have heard that it used to be the case but it was before i started playing..(14 years) and wondered how it worked.

I can't remember how it worked now...but the garden could only be watered let's say every five minutes. So someone would take a turn and then everyone would have to wait until the five minutes had elapsed before anyone could water again. I am not sure if it was five minutes...but it was a particular period of time. The problem with that was that then everyone was trying to click at the five minute mark which was kind of a mess. You might never get a chance. I don't propose that...ever again. But something just to slow the trickle of water giving the option for others to water too...instead of me watering every second and bullying everyone out of the garden.

I think it used to be 15 minutes minimum, this was when wildlife was new (mostly level 1-10) and badgers were missed a lot as they only stayed for 15 minutes.  Then later it was reduced to 5 minutes, then 1 minute and then nothing.

I remember when this was part of the rules.  It was hugely frustrating for both the waterer and the garden owner.  Lots got missed then too as people couldn’t be bothered to wait constantly after every watering.  Perhaps, it should just be limited to say 10 seconds, so that the waterer can’t water every second when something rare or big is due, thus giving others a chance. I have to say it’s something I have moments of being completely guilty of myself 🤷‍♀️

I agree with Andrea a limit for the player and not the garden, 30 seconds can feel like a long time so maybe 10 or 15 seconds would work 🤞

I really don't want this changing.  Yes, it's frustrating when you can't get a sprinkle in edgeways but when I really want something, I will water myself that way.  I don't particularly enjoy it, it's the most boring way to play and I don't do it often, but sometimes it's the only way to make sure that I spot something that I need, but that there aren't any other gardens set up for.

"Anyone can water at any time".  So as far as the game's ethos is concerned I don't think it's a particularly unfair way to play and I certainly don't see it as bullying.  If I feel it's too much then I will walk away but not because I feel I'm being bullied out of the garden.  I can chose whether or not I let others put me off watering when and how I want to and it's surprising how often the "lucky sprinkle" beats the players watering every second.

I don't want any constraints. Not a fan of too many rules. I don't see it as bullying...anyone can do it and I don't take it personally if someone is watering like crazy. It all works out alright in the end. Once they have got the creature they want, they usually clear off out the scene in the other gardens that have that creature and everyone gets what they're after in the end. All part of the game.

what if you're watering in more than one garden at a time (multiple tabs open) ?
would this prevent you from watering the next garden because you've already watered somewhere else and your time allotted is not up yet ?
this is not practical. I am sorry if you feel bullied but constricting someone else's watering habits is its own kind of bullying.
I personally don't choose to water this way but I also don't choose to watch how others water.

I think I’m happy the way it is at the moment it’s worked for so many years sometimes if your watering crazy sometimes you win it other times you don’t that’s the game you can be watching the garden for 30 minutes watering every minute and then someone comes along waters only  once and gets the critter that’s the nature of the beast
