I am not coloring in pictures.  I am working on the butterflies and wondering how many mushroom...roughly...are needed?  I will moving into the yellow-green and right now I have 181 amber seeds and 158 sunlight seeds.  Again, not coloring the pictures...working on the challenge.  Thank you. 

I think that it would be hard to say as I believe that you don't need a shroom to attract the butterflies(just the number of worms required for challenge requirements ultimately needs a shroom)...and whether you attract twins or triplets of butterflies. Or the type of food that you use. I would concentrate more on just doing the butterfly challenge and see how far your amber and sunlight seeds take you. If you are running low, then perhaps a hunt to up your numbers.

Maybe someone who has recently completed this challenge and kept track of the number of shrooms that they used could help you more.

Getting through the butterflies with enough seeds for the shrooms was a challenge in itself. I used superfood through out too. I still haven't recovered.  But it was a fun challenge so no regrets here

I think you're really well covered Catherine. You only need a shroom - as others have stated when you are bringing in the color of worms you need (10 of each color). Otherwise you don't need a shroom just for the butterflies. I used SF for most of it - that way I got my worms quickly & if I'm remembering correctly, I got most of them, if not all, on 1 tray of SF and used 1 Shroom per color (freezing at night so nothing was missed).  I think if you can afford SF - you'll be fine with that amount of seeds. But as also stated, just start and keep going & hunt when you can; continuing to collect seeds. Advertise your garden like crazy in both the WLG & the news several times a day to keep your garden known to all who are looking! Best to you!!
