I seem to remember there was a trick to attracting a bear without losing the honey. I think no one had to sprinkle before the first hour or something...can you advise please? Does it even work??? We need to attract two Bears and two Honey Bears  but only have one hive each of the required petals ...Also not sure how we harvest the hive? Do we just put it in the garden and simply harvest it? I REALLY don't want to repeat Bees...they were a nightmare for me!! Thanks!

Yes, the way you describe is the way I remember others talking about it.
HOWEVER, if you have a public garden, then you can't ask others to refrain from watering. You can either go private or don't advertise and hope for the best.

Oh that's right these days....Hmmmm...But surely asking EVERYONE to refrain from watering for the TRICK would be allowed?? I know it says "anyone, any time" so I suppose a fairylander who wants a Bear would have the right to water regardless of the request...

Is the timing still the same nowadays and are you safer using REG or ORGANIC food?

Regular food would take longer since the first wildlife shows up later. I would guess maybe 2 hours.
Organic would use the same timing.

Just on the bees Rona - it is relatively easy to build an all violet hive as long as you have one made already of all violet bees to plant a honey blossom in as the only bees that can turn up are purple bees.  If you only have one honey pot made from all purple bees I would recommend you build a couple more as insurance in case the bears do get the honey before you can stash them!  All red bee pots for black bears are dead easy to build.
