Need some advice on my hummingbird nest from those who've created them. I was told you kinda have to babysit your garden to make sure the macaws don't infiltrate and ruin the nest. I am almsot to 80% (1 more VHH needed) then onto my last. Despite having an herb I have had two visit, which I expected. My question is if I get to the 4th macaw do you pull your nest and spot the 5th then return it back for better odds? I'm freezing when I have to be away because the last nest got ruined. Thanks for any advice.

The usual advice is to store the nest until you get an alert for the hummingbird rather than to leave it to chance whether it arrives before the 5th Macaw.

You can also drop down to one plate, and add a second herb.

Hi, a supershroom will help deter mallards and not every mallard will contribute to a nest, only in increments of 5🧚‍♀️

And also a hummingbird nest is never ruined - just keep building the nest and when it is completed break it - any non hummingbird will be the birds that drop off when the nest is broken - using the Easter eggs is a good time to break nests.  Then set for a hummingbird and keep building!

Hello, got a question to! i left my nest out and a macaw helped build it (ad the 3rd bird) bird 1-2 and 4 are hummingbirds, so if i complete it with another hummingbird and then break it off, will the macaw in the middle the first to fall off ? or the one on the left, like with the usual nests ?

Hummingbirds never fall off, so if you complete it and then break it, the macaw will fall off and you can set up for the hummingbird again.  As Petra said, Easter is a good time to break nests because every Easter bunny you spot drops an egg so if you can do it while the bunnies are still around, it's really fast to do :)
