With the abundance of Unicorns at the moment I would love to get back to Topiary but haven't done it in years and years as I found the Unicorns too stressful, only I have no idea what to do. I had some information saved on my backwall and have just copied and pasted it all on my backwall so they're the newest posts on there. I'm sure once I get going it will all come back to me but can anyone offer any guidance now? Thank you.

Hi :)

Stef made a very useful guide for the Topiary Trail in "Most Useful Topics"- here it is:

Tracey, you have already completed the Red Topiary Trail 4X (still need to do this 3x times), Orange Topiary Trail 3x (still need to do this 3x) Yellow Topiary Trail 2x (still need to do this 3x) and Green Topiary Trail 1x (still need to do this 3x), and then progress to the other colours.

Given that you are just starting to get into it again, I would start with doing the red and orange trails first as you need 7x red, 6x orange, 5x yellow, 4x green, etc to complete the Tops.

Thank you, it's been so long it's kinda daunting.
I will look at getting organised with it next week 🤗

I agree with Connie and suggest that you start a red trail...so grab your red trail pot out of storage and plant a topiary seed in it. Dust it up if you wish..or wait the five days for it to be fully grown. Then when the bush is fully grown, you can click on the bush and discover whether you need to attract a squirrel or skunk to trim the bush. Plant the appropriate plant to attract the critter and when it arrives, your bush will be trimmed. You have five days to trim, spot in another garden and attract to your garden after the bush is fully grown. When you have met those spotting and attracting requirements, there will be a new bush planted in our topiary pot. There are three critters for the red pot and the last one will be a regular unicorn. It does help if you have the rainbow rocks to get the mushroom ready for harvest to attract the unicorn...but a mushroom fully grown that is one higher than the pink cap will do the same.
For the trails above red...there is a calculator that will help provide the lineup of critters on that trail so you know what to plant.

Don't fear the Unicorns! Looks like you've done Rainbow of Fish which makes it tonnes easier too. You'll be fine, and - you are right - now is definitely a good time to start again as lots of hunters are looking for unicorns for the vases to help spot yours and get a trim. Remember at least you don't need to spot any unicorns to trim your bush, just attract. Good luck. The Greenhouse is 110% worth the effort! xx
