After a ffm was spotted in my garden a message was left saying it had lit the violet light but it isn’t showing. It was from door number four… could this just be a glitch?

Try editing the lights (click the calendar then the light).  If you'd frozen the colour previously, you need to edit again to change to a different one.

You can close the door yourself once you have all 8 colours for the day, and reopen the next one.  If you don't have all 8 colours I believe you'd have to wait the 12 hours for the door to close itself.

When you have gone back a few days how do you move forward again to bring  your calendar up to date or do you have to go through all the days again thanks

As above, if you get the 8 colours for that day you can close the door yourself and reopen the next one.  If you don't have all 8 colours I believe you'd have to wait the 12 hours for the door to close itself.

You can go 2 days ahead of the actual date so you should be able to keep closing the door and reopening for the next day you want to update until you've caught up.
