Using old snowmen and scarecrows

If I put a previous year's snowman (comeplte) from storage into my garden, will it attract elf critters? I think the snowman is about ten years old....
Same goes for old christmas trees and scarecrows...

I'm wondering whether there's any point in keeping them.

Yes. My Santa snowman is over 5 years old and I'm getting lots of elf critters
