First time setting up for Jackdaws don't really know what I'm doing. Are there special pots required

You need to plant the praecocia plants in the specific pots (regular pots from the pot shop) - any other pots will give you useless stones.  You can also plant the tulipa in the magic black and white pots for zebras and they will also turn into gems when rfh.

To attract jackdaws you have to use the setup that you used to attract magpies.
You need the specific pots that you used before and plant either Flora Praecocia, Rosa Praecocia or Tulipa Praecocia.
When they are RFH you can attract jackdaws. The more different gems you use, to higher is the attraction for jackdaws. Then you can also plant a Nightrose Herb to deter magpies.

When you are ready to attract jackdaws you will want to plant a night rose herb to deter the very common magpie.  Depending on how many you want to attract you may also want to use superfood to make sure they stay for the maximum time.
