I have just completed my first topiary trail and when I looked under the unicorn it said when it was RFH to delete him I did this and all the I am left with is the empty red pot. Can an

The trail was completed when someone spotted your final topiary unicorn.  So the bush became RTH, you harvested it, and you're left with the pot to plant up again if you want to.

What rules do you mean?   If you have an empty topiary pot, you can plant a seed in it.

You completed the trail so you can plant another seed to do a second trail if you want.

You will need 7 red trails in all, so if you want to continue with the trails you'll want to plant up again - if not now, then at some point.  The order of the wildlife will be the same, if you use the same pot.

I wonder whether you're thinking of not being able to plant a new seed when you are part way through a trail?  The bush automatically replants itself to the next one on the trail, once you complete each part of the task, if that's what you mean?

That doesn't apply when you complete the trail - it becomes RTH, you harvest it, and the pot can be used again.

Sorry for being so slow answering you  but I went back to Stefs rules for the topiary trail and it took quite a while. She says when you find the first red finished and RFH delete him and another one will automatically be planted, also you only need one seed for the whole trail unless you make a mistake. I hope you can understand this Tracey.

That just isn't how it works at all.

Has she got it all wrong? If so I won't follow it.

To try and explain a bit more:

After each of the parts of the trail, when you complete the task, the bush will replant to give you the next in line.  So if you were doing the red trail and your first animal was a squirrel, when you complete the task the bush replants for the skunk.  When you complete the skunk, the bush replants for the unicorn.  But because the unicorn is the final animal on the trail, when you complete THAT task, the bush isn't replanted.  It becomes RTH, you harvest it, and (as with all other plants when you harvest them) you are left with the empty pot.

The bush does NOT replant to start the trail again.  If you want to start the trail again, you plant a new seed yourself.

Where Stef talks about the bush replanting itself is after you complete each section of the trail, not the end.
