Investigation was done through collecting data from others and there does not appear any tips to getting a heart potato. As Cobby says...it is random. Some have gotten one on the first growth of a sunflower at potato height...and others it took twenty sunflowers at potato height to get one. Others have gotten a couple of them.

I’ve seen some whoppers in my day. You should see what comes from my RL garden. I still am not loving the potato pot. I’m trying… lol Good luck finding your heart potatoes!
