I'm struggling to get a Lory to come to my garden... not one has visited yet.  Can I move onto Clubs or must I get that Lory in my garden first?  Thanks..

You need to attract 10 each of the Dodo, Lory & Mouse & spot 3 of each in other gardens Nicky, before you can move on to Mad hatter's tea party....

You need to attract 10 and spot three of each of the Caucus Race wildlife (Dodo, Lory, Mouse) to unlock the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

Oh dear.. I'll plod on for a while longer. Game takes too long and still confusing as to what card attracts the lory..

The Helper clues will tell you whether the card is too  high or too low.  And you can see it on the food as well, so you don't need to keep checking the Wildlife Guide to see which is which.

At the moment your middle card (the one you'll need for the Lory) is a 5 and the Rocking Horse Fly is telling you that it's too high.  You don't have a lower card so you will need to hunt for Card Gardeners to get some new ones.  If you haven't already changed the card with diamond dust you would be able to change it to a 4 otherwise you'll need new a new card.

Keeping note of whether the card is too high or low as you change them around is useful, since eventually you will  narrow it down to the correct card.

Finally worked out how to get my first Lory.. now what?  Do I leave that card where it is or do I turn it into one lower denomination? Thanks, xx

You start again, as the card resets once the Caucus Race character is spotted.  See which Helper wildlife shows up  and narrow the card down as you did before.
