Oh wow $1300 for a bill on gas, wow. id freak if i got a bill that expensive.. i guess it depends to if its running day and night.. some people feel the cold and keep the heating on day and night ours would only go on for like a couple hours in the morning then turn it off, and turn it back on at night time for a couple hours. id rather put on a extra jacket if i'm cold, or put a blanket on my legs. and a extra blanket on the bed.  xx your new split system would be cheaper to run than your gas probably as they make them more energy efficient now days. xx

oh ok,  used to do home care in a house that had one of those in the wall vacuums, It was horrible and so heavy dragging the super long hose through the house. And it wasn't a small house either!

ducted heating is a lot more expensive than gas heating. our electricity is double here compared to using 3 split systems in our old house.. If i had an option to use gas for heating id have that anyday over electricity.
