splashed---- We have a not bad start to the day ,it is 2 and no sun but bright. Yes apparently B C is going on daylight savings time for good,they will jump forward this weekend and stay there,apparently we are not following suit yet. Tea was funny-- to start with it looked like only 2 of us(one at each end of the tables) then slowly people drifted in and we ended up with a not bad crowd, Kevin is coming on Sat/ I will go grocery shopping and he is going to do my income taxes. So I am foing too have to do some clearing I think . I have been eating well but with just one of me things do not go down very quickly.  Have a good day and enjoy your visitors.

Hello ED, Ty for the Mouse. As far as I know Lynne didn't talk about conspiracy theories with my friends. I did hear her starting a conversation with one of the Coffee Clubbers about Mary Magdelene being Jesus' wife. We don't really discuss religion in the group so I was anxious. I was involved in another conversation and really should not have worried as the following day Anne gave a book title to me to pass onto Lynne. She said that she was really interested in her chat with Lynne. Speaking of books, did I tell you that I read a novel called, Orbital? It is all about a group of 6 astronauts on a space station orbiting the earth for 6 months. I found it fascinating. I told Jennifer in the UK about it and now she has read it and also enjoyed it. Now I really should do my vaccumming tp prepare for Sarah's visit on the weekend. Enjoy your new day.

Morning splash-- field mouse ty It is a nice sunny  start to the day and -5 and warming up/I know you would all think its coldbut not here (that is light jacket weather) One of these afternoons I guess I will need to get out on the balcony and see if I can do a little clean up but will be hard seen as I had those pigeons  making a home out there last year(Hope they caught them all and rehomed them a good distance away. I really tackled the apartment yesterday so this morning will just be puttering as I would not want to go to tea tired. Have a good day and yes I had autograph books.

Hello Ed, ty for the mouse.  Like Tracey I took in peoplE to stay in my Thornbury house. A former student and that was a disaster. My youngest brother and I eventually had to suggest that he should move on. At the same time I had a young German chap who was volunteering at the school rather than doing National Service. He was great and also had  time limit. I have no desire to invite peeps to stay with me now. Very happy on my own with family and friends dropping in to stay occaisionally. So Sandra wants a dog. Have you considered that it might be a good thing for her to have a companion dog? If it was a full time dog you would certainly have to look after it. Here sometimes people have companion dogs that visit hospitals and homes. Now I have finished my dinner and about to call the cats in. Enjoy your day.

Hello Ed, TY for the Mallard. My advice for Tracey re. retirement is to firstly find a local coffee shop and then greet people as you walk. Sometimes a dog will help. Not sure if she wants one however I always greet the dog coming towards me and then get to know the owners. A routine is essential. Next step is volunteering as you know that I have done this. I really could have done the same had I chosen to remain in Thornbury, inner suburb of Melbourne. There was a coffee shop around the corner that I often walked to and got to know regulars. And then for Tracey is finding something that she really wants to do and join a club. Retirement is a new way if living.
