Hello Ed, I found the terracotta tray that I needed for my Advent Candles. You asked how does it work. You have 4 candles for each Sunday before Christmas day. A central candle for the day itself. The first week you only light 1 candle. The 2nd week 2 and so on. At school we sang a song when we lit the candle/s. "Light the Advent candle one, Now the waiting has begun, Candle, candle burning bright, Guide us to the perfect light."  I always had a setting showing Mary, Joseph and the donkey's journey towards the stable. Brian made a stable for me. An empty straw crib was in the stable. I placed gold stars to represent each day of Advent and the children would move Mary, Joseph and the donkey closer to the crib. I would then read a chapter of a book, 'Mary's little Donkey.' to the children. In Steiner schools the 1st week represented the mineral world (not that I told the children this, and I would place stones along the path. 2nd week  the plant world, 3rd, the animal world, that's when the sheep appeared and 4th the human world. The shepherd's appeared then. Long answer to your question. Sleep well.

Hello Ed, I am happy that you sorted you lap top. Re, your lack of gold, just accept gifts and hopefully they will earn you gold to continue. Really you do not want to spend money buying gold. That is what we did when we first set up our gardens. Night is drawing in and I hope that I can encourage the cats to come inside. Have a great day.

HEllo Ed, TY for the Mallard. Remind me again what book you are reading. I went int Rye an hour or so ago. Called into a hardware storeon my way looking for a ceramic pot base for my Advent candles. They only had plastic ones. Then called in at the Produce store but they only had small ones. Then did my quick supermarket shop and at least I found the right candles. So tomorrow I will drive to Rosebud where hopefully I will find what I am looking for. At last we have some Summer weather and I am sitting outside wearing a T shirt. This morning when I walked around the corner for my morning coffee I met 5 others from the Coffee Club so we all sat outside in the sun and chattered. I hope that you are sleeping well.
