Hi, Cheryl.  It's hard taking care of older pets.  When I was kid we had a dog who lived 16 wonderful years.  He started having heart issues & we gave him digitalis for a few years.  Then he started retaining water & we had to send him to doggie heaven.  When my kids were little we had a Westie who lived almost as long, but he started having seizures & they told us it was a brain tumor.
