Listen to the high winds blow
shaking the window panes below
hear the shrieks as the old door creaks
then when the clock strikes midnight twelve
banshees' cry and witches cackle
brewing in their cauldrons black
eye of newt and skin of rat
to make their complexions bright
and buxom in the pale moon light
Bones rattle and black cats hiss
it's no time to meddle in this
halloween debacle
Yet children innocent, replete
from collecting candy sweet
snuggle down under quilts
having bobbed for apples and having fun
to dreamland now goes each sleepy one
Whilst ghouls and ghosts come out to play
skeletal bones dance the dance macabre
violin screeches fill the air
no one with any sense
would go near a graveyard on this night
for they may be in for a terrible fright.
No Ouija board should you play
Not until the next new day.
Take heed on what I say
for things happen on this night
that may turn your hair quiet white.
