Ag'ed men stand ramrod straight
From each force they represent
Sailor, Soldier, Airman too
they were the lucky ones
though now they are quite few
A memory scorched into their brains of heroism they did see, horrors
unimaginable for you or for me;
though those that died, no more remain
their memory is a sweet refrain.
The flower of our youth did die
as in a foreign field they lie
or beneath the ocean deep
each poppy petal represents one life
though a million tears did fall.
They gave their lives so we at home
may berate the cost of the economy
So, on the 11 month, of the 11 day
upon the 11 hour
bow your head in gratitude
and wear your poppy red
for all those heroes who ne'er came home
So we could simply say;
"They gave of their tomorrow
so we could have today!"

This time of the year with remembrance day coming up and Christmas not far away, our thoughts turn to those that are no longer physically with us. The memories we shared and the love we have for them. And so we give thanks for all that was, and pray for all that will be. So that each generation that comes after us will be safe and inherit a world filled with Love and Light. xx
