Dear Fairyland Friends,
My gorgeous cat and wonderful friend Bogart died suddenly 12/08/2025. I found him dead in his bed early last Thursay morning. He was NOT sick, there was no signs of struggle. He was a very large Maine Coon and unfortunately Maine Coon cats have genetic predisposition for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. My vet believes it was sudden cardiac death from either heart attack or fatal arrhythmia.
It was so horrible. He looked as though he was sleeping but he didn't wake up and I realized he was not breathing. I have been in shock since.
I am physically well but mentally and spiritually sick. I loved Bogart with all my heart. He was a ray of sunshine, more a best friend than a pet. Sadly I cannot focus enough to follow on Fairyland right now. I am trying to make sense of this new life without Bogart, helping myself and the other cats adjust to the empty place he left in our home and in our hearts.
