Hello, Helen, hope you had a good look around Jack’s house, although not so good news about the roof etc. Sounds like quite a project.  Wigtown is now on the visit list (thanks for the idea), it’s on the way to Galloway House and Gardens, which Jeff has listed too. My FL 17 birthday is 1 October, so just after yours (17 years is a long time), and yes, I remember posting the Amelia stories - she’s part of something I’m still writing on and off (a lot at the moment).  If I ever to finish it, there would be at least three books.  I tried the audio book of House of Niccolo 3 and managed four chapters before I sent for a used copy.  I didn’t mind being read to, but without the book in front of me I wasn’t concentrating.  The copy I got has a very creased cover with a curved spine. I managed to flatten the spine and I’m going to work on the creases next (Google and You Tube coming in handy again).  Hoping the weather improves for weekend x
