Good morning Eloise, another hot day due here, I really want to get some weeding done, but I  think that won't be happening. It was so hot overnight, making for a very disturbed sleep.
Have you got the air conditioner yet?  That will make a big difference for you.
I must do some research about  the shutters your friend has, they sound like a good solution.
