Good Morning Jennifer, it is amazing the things we collect and it is also a good feeling when we finally let go of them. Sometimes costly when we have to pay for skips. I have been there and done that! In Thornbury we had a yearly street collection and we could put out junk to be collected by the local council for free. People would walk and drive by collecting things. We don't have it here at Rye. However rate payers do get tickets each year for the local tip and I discovered last year that they will actually come and collect if you make a booking. 4 tickets each year for 1 sqare metre of junk each ticket. At the moment the charity shop that I work at is full to overflowing. So today I loaded up my car boot with DVD's C'ds from Mum's house and 'rescued' children's books from the shop that we had no room for. I have recently found out about a Rotary Warehouse in Rosebud so that is where I headed. Once there I wandered in with one bag and asked where do we leave donations. Also told him that I had more in my car. The chap told me  that they were not accepting donations at the moment as they were full. Then he said, "Hang on, I will go and check." He then went to a lady at the desk and she looked at me. She then approached me and said, "We will accept your donations as it is raining as I don't want you to have to go home and unload your car in the rain." I must have looked bedraggled! I thanked her for her kindness and then the chap followed me to my car and unloaded it. Another act of kindness. I drove home thinking about the good people in the world. Enjoy your day!
