Please could someone explain to me about these, when it says correct shape wrong colour, what am I aiming for, completely confused, just filling in till new quests arrive

One of the goals of the Candy Critters challenge is to attract Violet Candy Critters to your garden. To attract them, you need to have 3 correct Candyflowers in your garden. These must be the correct shape and color. It's excellent that your garden is attracting Red Jellybeaks and Blue Sugarsnouts!! To get Violet Jellybeaks,  you will need Orange not Red and Green and Indigo Jellybeaks, though. To get Violet Sugarsnouts, you will need Orange and Green and Indigo not Blue Sugarsnouts.

That means you need to plant a different colored Pentagon or a different colored Crescent - choose one type of Candy Critter to go for. You will need to hunt Sugarsnouts (for Pentagons) or Chocobugs (for Crescents). Remember to put out an empty pot before you hunt - I have messed that up before!!  When you have 5 of one or a multiple of 5, a Candyflower will be planted in your garden and you can try for a new color. This takes a lot of patience usually.

This helped me understand:

If a red visit = right shape wrong colour on the left candy
If an orange visits = right shape &  colour = keep that!

If a yellow visits = right shape but wrong colour for middle candy
If green visits = right shape & right  colour for the middle = save it!

If blue visits = right shape wrong colour  for the right side
If indigo visits = correct colour and shape for right side = save it!

No matter which three shapes you have, always rotate them in all positions, and use different foods to see what candy critter they attract.  No matter what candy critter turns up, and no matter what colour/shape you have, keep a record of what you attracted. You will slowly eliminate what colours and shapes you need for all the candies based on the results, until you get the three shapes and colours in the correct position for each of the candies.

Eg, if you get a red jellybeak it means the plant in first position is the correct shape but wrong colour for the jellybeak. So keep trying different colours with that shape, until the orange jellybeak comes.

The indigo sweettooth currently in your garden means you have the right shape and colour in third position for your sweettooth, so you just need to figure out position 1 and 2 for your violet sweettooth.

The secret is keep notes, try all positions and different foods. As you eliminate it becomes easier :)
