Does anyone else remember when Fairyland started? It was called "My fairy" and it was just the wands that you could use to cast "spells" on facebook friends (it just gave the friend a message that you cast a spell on them). I remember a "match" game with five mushrooms, and alchemy to use the ingredients you won to make gold. That was about 16 years ago!
What parts of the game do you remember that are no more?

The dreaded "Wilt Balance" where you lost space in  your garden if you didn't revive more plants than wilted in your own garden.  And only having five spaces to start with!

Being able to sprinkle people with standard dusts just for fun.  They couldn't use them but it was a nice way to let someone know you were thinking about them.

I remember the spells - the only specific one I can remember was the itching spell(!).

A diamond leader board which listed the most diamonds earned that day, before wildlife when there were very limited ways to earn them - the maximum was only ever about four or five.

Being able to see how many diamonds/gold other players had, then later how many of each wildlife they  had spotted in other gardens.  Those didn't end well.

The forums being like an absolute car crash sometimes ... they were an, erm, interesting place back in the day!!

Oof not just the forums, I remember some of the sprinkling wars! They sound funny, but only because they, um, don't happen any more

I joined after the My Fairy, but still in the evolutionary phase, when new wildlife would turn up randomly, and players would have to work out what they were from a grey silhouette, and how to attract them...

Snail races! 🐌

I think I joined right around the time the first wildlife were introduced. Here are some things I remember:
1) The nuts
2) Finding hungry snails when reviving plants
3) The snail races
4) Alerts being an hour long! (I’m so happy that most are only 10 minutes now!)
5) Plates taking longer than 6 hours in between feeds.
6) Collecting gold every 3 hours instead of the 50 free sprinkles (So happy this has changed! I love my free sprinkles!)

The original food took up to 36 hours between feeds.  That's unimaginable now.

Hour long alerts were a killer.  I remember sitting watering on my own for my first Toucan for a full 58 minutes, watering every minute (I must have been mad), then someone else getting it with one sprinkle.  I was gutted, and have hated alerts ever since!

Yes! Those hour long alerts were brutal! I think I experienced the same when I tried spotting my first hummingbird 😅 I’m so happy that has changed!

It is truly unbelievable how much this game has evolved. It's hard to imagine this game without gardens or wildlife!
And I'm so grateful for all of Mike's hard work to keep it going ❤️🙂

I do recall the introduction of the first myth and mushroom for the Water Dragon. I remember everyone complaining they would never, ever spot one and then Mike having to reassure players that yes they would.
And of course they did. And then all the 'unicorn parties' as the myths and unicorns were sequentially introduced. And water fights were mostly fun. But there was a watering delay of I think 15 whole minutes at one point  or something amazing like that required between watering each plant so unicorns on short staying times started getting missed, until the watering delays were dropped.

I just remember how ugly people were and getting people banned.  It's why I originally stopped playing and deleted my Facebook account. Thank goodness it's different now.
