Does the coral have to be coloured when it goes RTH to count as a harvested coral? I accidentally removed a coloured one before it was RTH, so now I wonder if I can just wait until it goes RTH?

Actually no, it doesn't - you can let it go rfh without it being coloured and it will count :)

Yes, you can plant the next one in your sequence ahead of time. A group of us did this and we went from one bottom dweller to the next using the same corals since we had met that "requirement" ahead of time....worked very well....
