How funny is this? (Beehives)

So, I have a bee flower with 1 petal of the T (target) colour and 4 of the NL (next lower) colour. Bees should be visiting in a ratio of about 4:1. So I hit on this brilliant idea. As soon as I get a T bee, I put the hive in storage and put out new ones until I've had 4-5 NL, then I can bring out the hive with 1 T bee. Good plan, huh?

It's not working. On the first round, I got too many NL bees in a row, so I ended up with another 4:1 hive. On the next couple of rounds, the T bee was missed :(

Now here's the funny part. Out of the last 8 bees, 5 were T! Who ever heard of complaining that they were getting too many of the colour they were trying to attract?

(On the plus side, I have lots of hives in my storage area that have started with the right colour.)

The ratio is just that, a ratio. It doesn't mean you'll get 1 T then 4 NL, that bit is completely random.
If you used the same pot for weeks on end, you'd find the total of each matched the ratio, but they don't arrive in a precise order.

Oh yes, I realise that. That's why I'm laughing, not frustrated.

Interesting strategy, I'm sure in my case it would end exactly like that. That's why I don't take any chances any more - it seems like Fairyland always knows best what my current wish is and works against it :D Well I do, sometimes, but then I regret it... The most usual "trick" is letting me wait for the arrival of something till the very last minute - it does that when I decide I will go to bed once it happens as the plate seems really due already and I want to perform some action afterwards.
