When looking for chocolate eggs for bunnies, I seem to find a lot of nests with eggs have been made with all hummingbirds.  Could those be the nests that get the "very occasional" chocolate egg?  The eggs are becoming plentiful now so just wondering....

the nest doesn't matter, I think people are using their hummingbird nest because you can keep discarding the other eggs from them without using up a use for a nest.  The all hummingbird nest never needs to be repaired.

I saw a dhocolate egg in a friend's garden and the nest had no hummers.

That makes sense, Lisa...hadn't thought of it that way!  Once we find 10 chocolate bunnies we get a chocolate egg in any nest empty completed by any assortment of birds, right?

May I please ask a question on this as well. Does the chocolate Egg also hatch like another egg and have a baby chocolate chick? I am just curious.

No, there is no chocolate chick. The chocolate egg attracts the chocolate bunny.

Thanks Claire, but what happens when it hatches? Because I've seen some whole eggs and some hatched eggs and I would love to know.

The egg breaks when the first chocolate bunny is spotted (I've seen a couple of posts where people suggested it hadn't broken until the second chocolate bunny was spotted, so there may be a minor glitch there but I don't know enough to say for sure).
