I found these instructions on another Fairy's garden wall, and wish I had seen them earlier. Sounds like an excellent way to start the challenge:
Billy goats try using 2 buttercups, 2 grass and 1 knapweed. Plant the 1st buttercup, then harvest the 1st grass. Dust buttercup to FG to start attracting small billys. Then plant the next buttercup, harvest the next grass and plant the knapweed. Dust 2nd buttercup to FG and attract small billys until the buttercups turn to medium. Then dust the knapweed to FG to deter the smalls to attract the medium billys and then the big billys. Use super food.
