WHEN YOU START THE TOPIARIES:

YOU DO NOT NEED A BUNCH OF SEEDS YOU PICK THEM UP AS YOU HUNT FOR TOPS

YOU CANNOT COLLECT THEM AND THEN THINK THEY COUNT TO WHEN YOU START THEY DO NOT!

YOU CANNOT FREEZE YOUR GARDEN AND HUNT THEY WILL NOT COUNT.

TOPIARIES ARE GOOD FOR DIAMONDS NOTHING ELSE UNLESS YOU ARE WORKING YOUR WAY THROUGH THEM!

WHEN YOU START AND CANNOT FIND A GARDEN HOSTING THAT PARTICULAR TOP THAT IS WHERE US HELPERS COME IN HANDY AS WE MAY HAVE JUST WHAT YOU WANT AND WE ARE HAPPY TO HELP.

WE DO OCCASIONALLY HUNT FOR SEEDS BECAUSE WE WANT TO HELP!!

I was told...nine seeds to start and that worked for me. I ended up with fifty plus...then they have gone up and down depending on the topiary help/pottery quests.
